Muscat

Muscat, the port capital of Oman, stands on the Gulf of Oman and is surrounded by mountains and the desert. The modern Grand Mosque of Sultan Qaboos, covered with marble and equipped with a 50 m dome and a huge Persian carpet, can accommodate up to 20,000 people.
